Onggi refers to Korean earthenware pottery. This annual festival is hosted by the 300-member Jeju Traditional Onggi Preservation Society and highlights how artisans here have made their unique earthenware.
Dec. 22 to Dec. 24 (Note: The opening event starts at 2 p.m. on the 22nd.)
The festival will be held at the site of the new Jeju Onggi Museum at 887-5 Mureung-ri, Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo City. 064-792-7955
Among the many things to do and see during the festival, there will be an exhibition of Jeju onggi, a demonstration of the techniques of a master craftsman, a chance to make your own onggi, a photography exhibition, video screenings, and more.
