One of the traditional seasonal customs, Koreans eat red-bean porridge on dongji, winter solstice day, to ward off evil spirits. Jeju Folk Village Museum holds this event annually to preserve the tradition. Visitors can watch Jeju women making the red-bean porridge in a traditional way and then taste the food under a traditional Jeju thatched roof.
