The Jeju Folk Village Museum will host a free folklore experience program to commemorate Lunar New Year’s Day which falls on Feb. 10 this year.
Date/time: Feb. 9, 10, and 11. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: Jeju Folk Village Museum. 40-1 Pyoseon-ri, Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo City.
Program includes the following activities:
Yeonnaligi (kite flying): Groups or families will be invited to construct and fly a kite as a team.
Tteok (rice cake): Visitors will be shown how to make a Korean rice cake using traditional methods.
Jegi (Korean shuttlecock): A demonstration of how to make the object of this traditional children’s game by stringing long pieces of paper through an old Korean coin.
Other folklore experiences will include yutnori (a traditional board game) and paengichigi (top spinning).
Opening hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Entrance fee: adults: 8,000 won, students: 5,500 won, children and seniors: 4,000 won.
