Yang Bang Ean (aka Kunihiko Ryo) is a world-famous musician who covers a wide range of genres from classical music to rock. He is also a composer, pianist, arranger and producer and was the focus of public attention at the presidential inauguration ceremony last month, where he performed “Arirang Fantasy.”

Yang is a second-generation Korean who was born in Japan but whose father hails from Jeju (known as Zainichi in Japanese). His love of Korea and Jeju is reflected in famous compositions of “Frontier!”, the official music for the 2002 Busan Asian Games and “Prince of Jeju.”

He has performed in a number of countries including Japan, Hong Kong, England and Germany.

This concert is hosted by Jeju National University’s Center for Zainichi Jeju People.
