The Seolmundae Culture and Art Market will feature art by a number of Jeju women artists including Ko Eun Kyeong. Locally-made food and artefacts will also be available. These include barley makgeolli (Korean rice wine), hand-made yogurt, ornaments, chocolate, cookies and much more. Visitors also can see and buy items made by disabled people, such as pottery, beads, craft art pieces, doenjang (Korean bean paste), candle, sausage, bread and cookies.
On the day of the market, the center will also offer free cultural programs; a tour of the exhibition hall featuring the history of women on Jeju, the making of paper animals from the island’s legends, caricature drawing and folklore activities such as Tuho (arrow throwing) and Jegichagi (Korean version of hacky sack). Calligrapher Hyeon Byeong Chan will also be available to write family mottos free of charge.
In addition, a Nanta percussion performance will provide entertainment.
