Jeju Stone Park is displaying 30 works of Florence-based Korean artist Yoo Keun Sang at its 500 Generals (Obaekjanggun) Gallery. Yoo entered the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze over 30 years ago and has since become a renowned artist in Italy. He has held many exhibitions in Korea and Italy, but this is his first in Jeju.
Asian sensibility and Italian culture combine in Yoo’s work to bring a sense of light and warmth. As well as his paintings, Yoo has recently been working on sculptures incorporating Byzantine-style glass and tessera. The effect is to reflect a variety of life images.
