Jazz vocalist Jang Jeong Mi first came into the spotlight in 1999 when she released a sublime album “Duo 42” with famous percussionist the late Kim Dae Hwan. Her remarkable vocal talents are again being heard as Jang returns to the stage after 10 years.
The album “Sad But Beautiful, Memories” was released in December last year and since then she has been busy performing nationally on her comeback tour. This weekend sees Jeju’s turn to host Jang as she performs at Cafe Seba.
She will sing 11 songs including covers of favorites “At Last” sung by Etta James, and “The Man I Love” by George Gershwin, as well as her own composition “Sad But Beautiful,” which reflects her story.
