Jeju chorus will perform J. Haydn’s famous oratorio “The Creation” (original title: “Die Schöpfung)” for the first time in Jeju. Three invited singers will play the roles of three angels, Gabriel (soprano), Uriel (tenor) and Raphael (bass).
Soprano (Gabriel): Suk Hyun Su
Graduated from the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main) in Germany.
Performed as a leading soprano in Korea and Europe including at the Erfurt Opera House in Germany and Teatro Calderon in Spain.
Tenor (Uriel): Park Seung Hee
Graduated from Seoul National University and Karlsruhe University of Music (Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe) in Germany.
Current music director of art group Bachsolisten Seoul.
Bass (Raphael): Lee Dae Bum
Graduated from Seoul National University and the Cologne University of Music (Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln) in Germany.
Has around 300 European-based performances to his credit including a five-year stint in Staatstheater Braunschweig (a theatre and opera house in Braunschweig, Germany).
Soprano Kim Mi Suk and Choi Hyo Lim (bass), both belonging to the Jeju Chorus, will perform the role of Eve and Adam, respectively. Jeju Philharmonic Orchestra will also collaborate with the Chorus during the performance.
Conductor: Jo Ji Woong, permanent conductor of Jeju Chorus
Studied in Germany and the Netherlands, graduated from Maastricht Academy of Music (Conservatorium Maastricht) in the Netherlands.
