Hallasu, a premium mineral water produced by the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Development Corp, was awarded a prize for its packaging design at this year’s iF Design Awards in Munich, Germany, on Feb. 28.

About 2,000 guests joined to celebrate the winners of the iF Design Awards 2014 at BMW Welt in Munich. After the 75 award winners received their gold trophies at a ceremony, all the guests celebrated and enjoyed an evening party.

The iF Design Awards are organized by the iF International Forum Design GmbH, in Hannover Germany, recognizing the best in international design.

The iF Design Awards consist of three divisions: products, communication, and packaging. Forty-nine international design experts assessed 4,615 products, communication designs and packaging entered by participants from 55 countries.

About Hallasu and the Hallasu bottle design, it is introduced as follows by the iF design awards:

“Hallasu, Mysterious Oriental Water,” is a premium water brand from Korea whose water has its source on Mount Halla on the volcanic island of Jeju. The mountain’s silhouette is reflected prominently in the form of the base of the bottle. The design lines of the vessel with its rounded square basic form are gentle and clear. The black stopper serves as a drinking vessel. The calligraphy of the Chinese character for water graphically dominates the design.”
