We have two passports that can be used for recording your trail progress around the island. One color is for the Jeju-si side of the island (orange). One color is for the Seogwipo-si side of the island (blue).

Unfortunately we are not able to sell these passports at our airport information desk.

So where should a walker go to get them?

Please go to the Ganse Lounge in old-downtown Jeju City. You can take the #500 bus from out the front of the airport. It comes about every 10 – 12 minutes. Make sure it’s heading in the direction of Jeju National University (NOT Jeju Halla University). When getting on double-check with the bus driver Jungang-ro (show: 중앙로). Expect a 15 minute bus ride depending on traffic. From the bus stop it’s a quick walk to the building.

You can buy the passports there as well as pick up free leaflets on public transport and the grandmother guesthouse program our trail operates.

From 2015 the Ganse Lounge is Jeju Olle Trail’s official Jeju City walker resource center, which doubles as a cafe and restaurant (though the food prices are a little high – something we’re working on rectifying after feedback).

Also if I’m contacted ahead of time and the schedules are okay, I can come out to meet walkers there. I’d be happy to give an overview of Jeju, the trail, and answer any questions you have in person.

The Ganse Lounge is part of a provincial government project to regenerate the whole area of old-downtown. It’s worth having a wander among the back streets for a while. Route 17 passes through so you could follow that in reverse for as long as that pleases. Then just come back.

Finally we’re also into the last phases of converting an old hospital building in Seogwipo City. It will become our new HQ, home of the World Trails Network and operate a walker center on the ground floor selling passports. When the project is finished this post will be updated with the relevant information.
